On July 30 at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, our national boxer Busenaz Sürmeneli advanced to the semifinals, and our national judoka Kayra Sayit placed fifth.

Yasmani Copello Escobar ran a 49-minute 400-meter heat and advanced to the semifinals of the event. Yasemin Can placed sixth in her 5000m heats and made it through to the final with a time of 14 minutes, 50.92 seconds.

Meanwhile, Emel Dereli’s 17.81m shot put distance was not enough to keep her from being eliminated in the group stages, and she ultimately placed 16th overall.

Busenaz Sürmeneli, a Turkish boxer, cruised to a 5-0 victory against Anna Leyesenko, of Ukraine, in their 69-kilogram (kg) quarterfinal bout, and a spot in the last two.

In the round of 16, Esra Yldz won 5-0 over Dayana Erika Iohanna Sanchez of Argentina to move on to the quarterfinals in the 60 kilogramme weight class.

In the 81 kilogramme weight class, Bayram Malkan was eliminated after losing to Loren Alfonso of Azerbaijan in the quarterfinals.

Kayra Sayit +78kg advanced to the quarterfinals of the judo tournament by beating Vanessa Hortace Mballa Atangana of Cameroon and Yelyzaveta Kalanina of Ukraine. Our judoka, after losing in the quarterfinals to Japan’s Akira Sone, overcame South Korea’s Mijin Han in the repechage with an ippon to get to the bronze medal match, where she was defeated by France’s Romane Dicko, and ultimately placed fifth at the Games.

Onat Kazakl’s Olympic Rowing Career Ended with a 7:13.65 Finish in the D Final.

Yasemin Ecem Anagöz of Turkey lost to Chaeyoung Kang of South Korea, 2-6, in the round of 16 in the archery competition.

Deniz nar and Ateş nar finished second in the fifth race and tenth in the sixth race to improve to sixth place overall in the 470 Men’s Class with a net score of 31.

Beste Kaynakç and Ocean Arkan, sailing in the 470 Women’s Class, finished 12th in the fifth race and 14th in the sixth race. Welder & Arikan have scored 80.1, putting them in 18th place.

Laser Radial Class sailor Ecem Güzel finished the ninth race in 27th and the tenth race in 20th, giving her a total of 172 net points and a 20th-place finish at the Games.
